In fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true expertise: ten thousand hours.
— Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers

10,000 HOURS is an interview series about craft, creativity and putting in our time.

In his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell examined and popularized the theory that any given skill takes ten thousand hours to master.

How accurate is that? More importantly, if there’s any truth to the theory, how does it change the way we look at doing work and putting in time?

Brought to you by entrepreneur Grant Spanier and writer Vince Koci, 10,000 HOURS is a weekly discussion about the different ways people work hard to do what they love.

Joined by guests from around the world with diverse backgrounds— topics will touch on everything from entrepreneurship, creativity, productivity, personal philosophy, living your passion, and everything in-between.

Grant is a director, designer, photographer, podcaster, and dj. He does a bunch of stuff, including creative direction for Death to Stock.
Follow him @grantspanier on twitter & instagram, or check out his work.

Vince is a writer and self-described word-fetishist that has penned papers at ad agencies, PR departments and magazines. Currently copywriting at Yamamoto in Minneapolis, he also finds time to author short stories, scripts, and customizable physician's notes (payable by cash or traveler's cheque). You can find him on Twitter on @vinceandrepeat, or at any Twin Cities establishment that serves a Gin Rickey.

The show is edited by our incredible audio engineer PAT LAEGER.
